Accept No Substitutes

Accept No Substitutes is a discussion and appraisal of the issues we all face as individuals at this time on planet earth. It addresses the paradoxes of individualism versus the power of the collective and the state and initiates thought in the reader with regard to our lives right now and the themes underpinning the times we are living in. The topics include the disempowering effect of consumerism on us each individually and the effects on the individual of the pressure of the collective which has been made all the more powerful in these times of the internet.

Its basic premise is that we as individuals are still serfs in the power of the barons, who are now the corporate barons, whose names only have changed not the essential power structure. Their corruption is rife and all pervasive and we are being fed ‘cake’ in the form of food and information among other things to stuff us into silence with substitutes and each of us and the planet as Gaia are suffering as a consequence.
